    (S60 ed. 3) drawString & newline character

    Hi,

I am trying to write Strings to a CustomItem.
    From http://www.myjavaserver.com/~biorka/images/s60ed3_1.PNG
you can see that I have tried to drawn the "\n" newline character
and it appears as a small box. This was demonstrated in S60 edition 3 emulator. It poses no problems in an S40 ed 3 emulator. Why & how to remove the boxes ?

    Thanks all.

S60 phones (and others as well) draw "invisible" characters as squares when you pass strings that contain them. Same thing happens if you try to draw characters that are not supported (like foreign languages it doesn't have a font for). The solution: don't pass strings with "\n" to drawString() (drawString doesn't know how to handle multiline strings).
