    DRM encrypted jar

    Hi,

I'm posting this question again here. I've had it for a couple of days in the drm section, but maybe the java people don't go there.

I have a question concerning drm protecting j2me jar files. How secure are the contents of the jar file? If I write some code and encrypt it with drm is the code more secure than if I just obfuscate it? Can someone still open up and read the contents of the jar file?

    Thanks,

    Emery

    Re: DRM encrypted jar

    Hi,

from my knowledge drm protection only helps to avoid illegal contribution of jar files. it has nothing to do with the code protection

    Re: DRM encrypted jar

    Hi,

Hmm. If it can't be distirbuted to another platform then it can't be read by programs which unjar or un-obfuscate them. I don't know of any programs (yet) which can do this on the phones.
