Is there a way to redirect from a .html file to a .wml file?

I am producing a WAP site and unfortunately my host server is only set up to detect .htm and .html files. Therefore if I put http://www.mydomainname.com/wap/ it will only detect those files and gives an err. Is there anyway for the gateway to interpret code within a .htm file and redirect to my .wml files?

RE: Is there a way to redirect from a .html file to a .wml file?

    which server are you using?
can you use dynamic pages? (is the html interpreted?)

what you might try doing is setting the content-type header in the returned page to wml, so that even though the page being returned is called wombat.html the browser/phone sees that the content of that page is actually wml and not html.

also lookup mvc design methods (model-view-controller). that might sort you out too, depending on what your server will let you do.
