    Hi all,

    has someone sucessfully send OTA XML settings to a phone like the E70 or N80? By the way, how to generate the HMAC key and user data header?

    Re: Specific OTA XML settings to configure WiFi Access points on E70, N80

    Hi Breil

    I'm working on the same thing. I'm using nowSMS (www.nowsms.com) to send the OMA Client Provisioning messages via SMS.

    This is what I have so far

    <wap-provisioningdoc version="1.2">
    <characteristic type="APPLICATION">
    <parm name="APPID" value="w9010"/>
    <parm name="PROVIDER-ID" value="xxxxx 1408 SIP"/>
    <parm name="PTYPE" value="IETF"/>
    <parm name="PUID" value="08450045635@talk.xxxxxxx.net"/>
    <parm name="NAME" value="xxxxxx1408 SIP settings"/>
    <parm name="APROTOCOL" value="UDP"/>
    <parm name="TO-NAPID" value="xxxxxxWLAN1408"/>
    <characteristic type="APPAUTH">
    </characteristic>
    <characteristic type="RESOURCE">
    <parm name="URI" value="talk.xxxxxx.net:5060;transport=UDP"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHNAME" value="08450041234"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHSECRET" value="35491234"/>
    <parm name="AAUTDATA" value="asterisk"/>
    </characteristic>
    </characteristic>
    <characteristic type="NAPDEF">
    <parm name="NAPID" value="xxxxxxWLAN1408"/>
    <parm name="BEARER" value="WLAN"/>
    <parm name="NAME" value="xxxxx:Free"/>
    <parm name="NETWORKMODE" value="Infrastructure"/>
    <characteristic type="WLAN">
    <parm name="SSID" value="xxxxx:Free Internet"/>
    <parm name="NetworkMode" value="Infrastructure"/>
    </characteristic>
    <parm name="INTERNET"/>
    </characteristic>
    </wap-provisioningdoc>

    I send this using nowSMS's "Send XML Settings Document" option. The messages arrive and can be read and saved. On an E60, this creates an Access Point and SIP Settings (with the SIP settings successfully pointing to the correct Default Access Point)

    I have a few issues:
    1. Setting the Access Point to Infrastructire mode instead of Ad-hoc (discussed in this thread http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=86854)
    2. Setting the SIP registrar server's Realm to 'asterisk' (see http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=49382 re: AAUTHDATA / AAUTDATA conflict in documentation)
    3. Setting the Internet Tel. Settings

    If anyone has found the documentation on this please can they point menin the right direction. The existing docs do not cover SIP and WLAN settings at all / very well.

    I have downloaded the Nokia Configuration Tool, but that does not seem to generate the OMA configuration files in the <wap-provisioningdoc version="1.2"> format (I think its OTA but I'm not sure/clued up enough)

    Thanks
    Russell

    Have you found out how to set the internet tel. settings (option 3)? Can it be done in the same provision message?

    hi all!
    Good study you did!
    That sounds like my needs.
    I work for a company which aim to build some services for more ease of using a mobile such as having news without going through your browser. Such application needs sometime huge configuration therefore i'm studying any configurations protocole such as OMA provides. my first question is could someone possibly give a me the step-by-step procedure to build a OMA client provisioning? I'm interested in both opensource solutions and commercial solutions, but because I just study capabilities of tools and services, opensource could be appropriate to start with.

    Thank you in advance.

    ps: where wbxml is located in the process? which tool should i use? simple download of wbxml file from a "http/wap|wbxml" server could be sufficent? I gonna check what nowsms provide but waiting and answer from any volonter

    Russel, can you provide some information on NowSMS settings. We are using NowSMS and OTA settings are reveived by phone as a set of ordinary SMSs.

    Thanks

    Hi Visu

    Well I must say "perfect timing"! I haven't touched on the Nokia OMA stuff for a year until this week! We have now got SMS's going to Nokia N80 running the latest Nokia firmware. I'll gather together version number etc and I'll post an example XML doc. Our XML doc creates/sets the WLAN Access Point, the Internet Tel. profile and the SIP profile.

    Anyway, I hope to post it in the next couple of days when I get a spare (longer than this) moment.

    Cheers
    Russell

    Re: Specific OTA XML settings to configure WiFi Access points on E70, N80

    As promised, here is a snippet from our PHP code which defines the XML for setting up the Nokia N80. As mentioned before, our XML doc creates/sets the WLAN Access Point, the Internet Tel. profile and the SIP profile.

    $omasipregserver = 'sip.tovo.com';

    $xml[] = <<<XML
    <wap-provisioningdoc version="1.2">
    <characteristic type="APPLICATION">
    <parm name="APPID" value="w9013"/>
    <parm name="PROVIDER-ID" value="Tovo"/>
    <parm name="NAME" value="TovoVoIP"/>
    <parm name="TO-APPREF" value="Tovo appref"/>
    </characteristic> <!-- APPLICATION -->
    <characteristic type="APPLICATION">
    <parm name="APPID" value="w9010"/>
    <parm name="PROVIDER-ID" value="Tovo"/>
    <parm name="APPREF" value="Tovo appref"/>
    <parm name="PTYPE" value="IETF"/>
    <parm name="PUID" value="{$number}@{$omasipregserver}"/>
    <parm name="NAME" value="Tovo SIP settings"/>
    <parm name="APROTOCOL" value="UDP"/>
    <parm name="TO-NAPID" value="TovoWLAN"/>
    <characteristic type="APPADDR">
    <parm name="AUTOREG"/>
    <parm name="ADDR" value="{$omasipregserver}"/>
    <characteristic type="PORT">
    <parm name="PORTNBR" value="5060"/>
    </characteristic>
    </characteristic>
    <characteristic type="APPAUTH">
    <parm name="AAUTHNAME" value="{$sipuser}"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHSECRET" value="{$sippw}"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHDATA" value="{$omasipregserver}"/>
    </characteristic>
    <characteristic type="RESOURCE">
    <parm name="URI" value="{$omasipregserver}:5060"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHNAME" value="{$sipuser}"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHSECRET" value="{$sippw}"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHDATA" value="{$omasipregserver}"/>
    </characteristic>
    </characteristic>
    <characteristic type="NAPDEF">
    <parm name="NAPID" value="TovoWLAN"/>
    <parm name="BEARER" value="WLAN"/>
    <parm name="NAME" value="{$ssid}"/>
    <characteristic type="WLAN">
    <parm name="NETMODE" value="INFRA"/>
    </characteristic>
    <parm name="INTERNET"/>
    </characteristic>
    </wap-provisioningdoc>

    XML;

    If you're not familiar with PHP... the bits inside the curly
    braces are substitutions, so you should replace e.g. {$sipuser} with your SIP username etc. 'Tovo' ius the name of our Company/service, so obviously you should replace that with something more meaningful - <plug>see www.tovo.com</plug> :-)

    And the PHP snippet which send it to the NowSMS server

    $otapin = '&OTAPIN=1234';
    $nowmsmserver = 'your.nowsms.server';
    $nowsmsport = '8800';
    $path = "http://$nowsmsserver:$nowsmsport/?PhoneNumber=$mmsnumber$otapin&OTA=POST&user=$user&password=$pwd";
    $fp = @fsockopen("$server", $port, $errno, $errstr);

    $header = "POST $path HTTP/1.0\r\n";
    $header .= "Content-Type: text/xml; charset=ISO-8859-1\r\n";
    $header .= "Content-Length: ".strlen($xml)."\r\n\r\n";
    $header .= "Connection: Close\r\n\r\n";
    fwrite($fp, $header);
    fwrite($fp, $xml);
    fclose($fp);

    Again, PHP uses $variablename for substitution, so replace these with your own values. Remember the OTAPIN setting.

    The following document proved to be most useful, compared with what was available a year ago.
    S60_3rd_Edition_SIP_Settings_Configuration_Guide_v1_0_en.pdf
    http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n..._0_en.pdf.html

    We're using NowSMS v2006.03.09.
    The Nokia N80 is running v5.0719.0.2 24-05-2007 RM-92 Nokia N80 (11)

    Hope this helps. If you have questions, post them here and I'll try to help.
