Question verisign certificate signed application and 6265 behaviour

    Hi,

I have a problem while running verisign signed java application on 6265 that is when I try to run it it gives me an error saying "Invalid Application" and when I try to run same but unsigned application it runs fine and also on another S40 cell phone 7370 both signed and unsigned works fine.

    Kind Regards

Unsigned and signed application work on 7370?
Unsigned works on 6265 and when installing signed you get "Invalid application"?

If you are using the same files to install, I am guessing your 6265 phone does not have the Verising root certificate you used to sign the midlet.

You can check the list of certificates from the Settings->Security->Certificate List (or something along those lines)

Question Re: verisign certificate signed application and 6265 behaviour

    Hi,

I checked the Settings->Security but there is no option like "Certificate list" or like that, does it mean I don't have verisign certificate on 6265?

if yes then can you please tell me does all 6265 cell phones donot have verisign or only mine don't have this?

If only mine don't have this then what should I do?

    Kind Regards

    Hi Muhammad,

Yes, it does mean that root certificates are not available on your 6265. It seems they were removed by your operator...i don't know...and AFAIK you cannot add them yourself.

Hmmm... no. I think this means just that I should have checked the correct place to find certificate list on S40 3rd edition CDMA devices, as it apparently is different from the location on GSM phones...

    Try this
Open the mini browser and let it try to connect to the network. After you get the menu available go to
    Menu->Advanced...->Security...-> Certificate Info

Oh, my mistake, i agree that it wouldn't make sense for an operator to remove root certs i guess...i don't know...anyway sorry for that misleading!
