    Unable to Sign MIDlet with J2mePolish1.3-Beta3

    Dear All!

    we are using J2ME Polish 1.3-beta3 in our application. Now we want to sign the application using a Verisign Certificate.
    When we use the J2ME-POLISH build.xml to sign the application, the application fails to install(Error:- "Installation Security Error! Unable To Install" on Nokia6600) on the

    mobile phone.
    However the same application successfully installs when we sign the application using Netbeans4.1.

    We are pasting the J2MEPOLISH build.xml which we used to sign the application.

    <sign
    key="SignMIDlet"
    keystore="midlets.ks"
    password="${password}"
    />

    OR

    <java jar="${wtk.home}/bin/JadTool.jar"
    fork="true"
    failonerror="true"
    if="polish.midp2"
    unless="test"
    message="Adding signature for device ${polish.identifier}"
    >
    <arg line="-addjarsig"/>
    <arg line="-keypass ${password}"/>
    <arg line="-alias SignMIDlet"/>
    <arg line="-keystore midlets.ks"/>
    <arg line="-inputjad dist/${polish.jadName}"/>
    <arg line="-outputjad dist/${polish.jadName}"/>
    <arg line="-jarfile dist/${polish.jarName}"/>
    </java>
    <java jar="${wtk.home}/bin/JadTool.jar"
    fork="true"
    failonerror="true"
    if="polish.midp2"
    unless="test"
    message="Adding certificate for device ${polish.identifier}"
    >
    <arg line="-addcert"/>
    <arg line="-alias SignMIDlet"/>
    <arg line="-keystore midlets.ks"/>
    <arg line="-inputjad dist/${polish.jadName}"/>
    <arg line="-outputjad dist/${polish.jadName}"/>
    </java>

    Both code give the same JAD file this is:-

    MIDlet-Name: ABC
    MIDlet-Version: 1.0.0
    MIDlet-Vendor: XYZ
    MIDlet-Jar-URL: ABC.jar
    MIDlet-Jar-Size: 254661
    MIDlet-Description: XXXXXXX
    MIDlet-Icon: /logo.png
    MIDlet-Info-URL: XXXXXXX
    MIDlet-1: ABC,/logo.png,Services
    MIDlet-Push-1: sms://:4000,Services,*
    MIDlet-Jar-RSA-SHA1: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    MIDlet-Certificate-1-1: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    If we use the NetBeans Build.xml configuration then found the following JAD File this is(Installed Succesfully in Mobile):-
    MIDlet-Name: ABC
    MIDlet-Version: 1.0.0
    MIDlet-Vendor: XYZ
    MIDlet-Jar-URL: ABC.jar
    MIDlet-Jar-Size: 254661
    MIDlet-Description: XXXXXXX
    MIDlet-Icon: /logo.png
    MIDlet-Info-URL: XXXXXXX
    MIDlet-1: ABC,/logo.png,Services
    MIDlet-Push-1: sms://:4000,Services,*
    MIDlet-Certificate-1-1: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    MIDlet-Certificate-1-2: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    MIDlet-Certificate-1-3: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
    MIDlet-Jar-RSA-SHA1: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

    Please provide the proper build configuration for certifying the Application with J2MEPolish.

    Thanks and Regards
    Kapil Sidhu

    Re: Unable to Sign MIDlet with J2mePolish1.3-Beta3

    Hi Kapil,

    Try upgrading to the new Polish 2 Beta 2. I was having the same problem, but this seemed to fix it (the .jad file now has the correct certificate values).
