    MMS and N70

    hello...

can somebody help me...im trying to develop an application for sending mms, im using j2me and N70 phone to test it out.. it didn't work but sending sms worked. After I checked the specification and configuration. N70 support WMA 120 only, hence my application will not work.

my question is ...is this the right reason; N70 could not support J2me sending MMS application because it does no support WMA with MMS (jsr 205)?

How can I send MMS with j2me application with WMA 1.1?

    thanks in advance..

Yes, you need JSR 205: Wireless Messaging API 2.0 to send MMS messages from your Java application. With out JSR 205, I dont find another way. I feel that is what JSR 205 is meant for.

N70 do support Wireless Messaging API (JSR-120). You can see the technical specs of N70 here.

    Hi Gopal,

thank u for your quick reply...

I think i can not implement mms (jsr 205) application for my N70...but i found this website which mention about jsr-120 and mms, http://www.java-tips.org/java-me-tip...e-devices.html . this website gave the sample code for mms, which confuse me since it did not mentioned anything about jsr 205. What do you think of this website?

    thank you again.

    Re: MMS and N70

IMHO the info provided in the web site is wrong. Please read about JSR 120 here http://www.jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=120

With JSR 120 the following technologies will be addressed:

    Short Message Service (SMS)
    Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD)
    Cell Broadcast Service (CBS)

The SMS may include APIs for
    sending and receiving text (API)
    usage as data bearer (API)
application push, connection to the JAM
    application trigger

USSD will be used for exchanging data.

The CBS API should allow Java applications to receive cell broadcast data.

You could get more info here
