    Audio streaming

    Hi,

is it possible to do "real" audio streming in c++ on Nokia S60 3ed devices (with real I mean that player does not need to read whole stream, before it starts playing (this happens in java) and that voice can be recorded and played at the same time) ?
And if yes which api should I use for that (I am trying to do some voip ua - are there any issue that this is not possible; since I wanted to do it in java but there are few things which makes that impossible at the moment).

Is it possbile to play audio on build in device speaker (used for normal phone calls) or can audio be only played on loud-speaker (like in java) and how :-)?

    Thanks,
    Klemen

    Re: Audio streaming

You can definitively stream audio. For VoIP you'll probably need to use the low-level APIs defined in CMdaAudioOutputStream.

Regarding full duplex (recording and playing back at the same time): From what I've heard and as far as I remember, the Nokia 6630 is the only device where the hardware supports that.

Full duplex supported from 2nd ed fp2 devices ie. 6630. For using this we need to drive sound streams with some priority setting.

    Re: Audio streaming

So on nokia N80 full duplex is supported and aslo real-time audio streaming should be no problem (that I send buffer to player and it plays it at that moment and when I get another one and send it to it it plays that one and so one... - without need to give the player whole stream before it starts to play)?
(What kind of priority setting must I use for full duplex?)

Any info about API to use would be appreciated...

    Thanks,
    Klemen

    Re: Audio streaming

There are limitations on audio routing on S60 3rd edition devices. See the following page for details
    http://forum.nokia.com/document/Foru...S60_3rd_Ed.htm

The workaround is using a component named Audio Proxy Server, which is available here.

Actually the audio streaming is taking place, but i want to know how to control the loudspeaker (on and off) while doing that.
