Implementing a List using Canvas, or something else

    Hello

I need to have a screen with a list and an image in the top of the screen . in addition the screen should have a frame
I need to have the properties of the list as scroll, chose an item of the list and use its data

What is the best way to implement this?

I saw that in the List class I cannot add images (not to talk about a frame... )

How can I implement list items in a canvas?
How can I know what is the chosen list item?, or is there a better way?

    Thanks

You have to do your own custom implementation in Canvas. Set the display to a Canvas and on that canvas you have to draw the contents(items) of the list by using drawString(). You have to write your own code for handling list selection by using keyPressed() method of Canvas.

    Hello Jaazz,
If you want to have customized list component then its better go for canvas. I already have a List class using canvas which have the all the properties you have mentioned. If u can give ur mail ID i can send the source code of it. You can even further enhance the class and customize to ur needs.

Is there an Source code example which would reflect it ?
    e.g.:
