    Navigation from Canvas to Form

    Hi,

If I press the FIRE game action from a canvas, then can it take me to a new high-level screen (perhaps a Form, List or a Textbox)?

    Regards,
    Danish

You need to listen for the keyEvent for FIRE key.
where you can set the display for the Form or TextBox or List.

    Hi Amin,

A Form or List is a high level component. A canvas is a low level component. How and where do I set the display? It cannot be done in the paint() method of the canvas class.

At least give it a try.
    I am quite sure.
    It should work.

By getting the key event, I can repaint the canvas. But how will it take me to a high level component like a Form or a List?

I think by getting a key event in a Canvas, I cannot move on to a high level component like a Form. Please correct me if I am wrong.

It's not a low-level/high-level issue. It's an issue of being able to access the proper methods to switch displayables. As long as your Canvas has a way to "reach" the high-level screen you need and the Display instance, you can change Displayables to your hearts content.

    Maybe this can help.

    Hi shmoove,

Thanks for helping me out. Now it works. I am able to use the FIRE game action to move to a high level screen.

    danish,
In my first reply. i was trying to convey the same message that It's not a low-level/high-level issue.
And what is relevant to have reference of the displayable object.

shmoove, said the same thing that i said in short.
You got the solution is the main thing.
