Unhappy Carbide.vs with Visual Studio 6

    Hello all,

I have posted one thread in General category of forum:

    http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=89427

I think this section would be right to question about Carbide problems, isn't it?

Please help me to solve the problem..

    Thanks......

Re: Carbide.vs with Visual Studio 6

Having a bit of a problem with what is the problem but:

Visual Studio 6 has not been supported by Nokia SDKs since 2nd Edition FP3 and has never been supported by Carbide.vs.
Also at this time, VS 2005 is not supported by neither Carbide.vs nor the SDK.

There are 3 environments available from Nokia for doing (supported) S60 work:

Carbide.c++, current available as the free Express, soon also as the Dev/Pro versions
Carbide.vs, to be used together with VS 2003
    CodeWarrior 3.1

If you want to use the UIQ Application Wizard, then you should go to UIQ for support as at least Nokia people on this discussion board have no info on the UIQ stuff.

Finally, the code errors that you get are due to errors in porting, S60 2nd Ed code does not compile unmodified on S60 3.x, there is a separate discussion board for that: http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...play.php?f=122, however only post there after you have read http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n..._1_en.pdf.html

Re: Carbide.vs with Visual Studio 6

    Hello Mitts,

    Thanks for the reply.

Let me configure Carbide.vs with Visual Studio 2003.

It took my lots of time in struggling with Carbide.vs with VS6.

    I think Carbide.Vs is freeware,isn't it?

    Thanks........

Carbide.vs is free as are also, e.g., Carbide.c++ Express and Cabide.j
