    Downloading large files problem on 6280

    Hello,

    When I`m trying to download file by using HttpConnection from the server I always got IOException on getResponseCode() . But if size of the file is less than 160k everithing works fine. ( On emulator I have no problems even with huge files )

    In this thread http://discussion.forum.nokia.com/fo...ad.php?t=78213 RichardLivingstone1 has exactly the same problem, but no solution is proposed there.

    If there is a limitation for maximum file size on 6280 ?

    hi fresco,

    welcome aboards!
    that's not quite related - you are trying to download file while linked thread is about wrongly used send request (GET instead of POST mostly),
    do you have flat data plan for GPRS/UMTS transfers? (maybe data carrier put limit on number of constant download size?)
    regards,
    Peter

    Re: Downloading large files problem on 6280

    Hello Peter !

    I sure there is no problem with flat data plan for the transfers. I can downloadad what ever I want with the same SIM card and the same program on SE W810i phone. Also, I use this SIM card on 6680 phone for testing of some symbian program that uses networking too, and everything works fine.

    I tried to use both types of request (GET/POST), but I saw no difference in program behavior. I have a feeling that something wrong with a HTTP header I receive, may be for the large files IIS and Apache use some other encoding method and 6280 doesn't support it ?

    Thank you in advance, and sorry for my poor english.

    Yea, I already checked its specs but I did't create any bytearrays, I'm just trying to open a connection. This is the code:

    HttpConnection conn = (HttpConnection) Connector.open("http://xxxxx/1.mp3");
    conn.setRequestMethod( HttpConnection.GET );
    int _httpAnswer = conn.getResponseCode();
    if ( _httpAnswer != HttpConnection.HTTP_OK ) {
    // Some problem
    }
    System.out.println("Connection opened");

    I even don't open the input stream, but getResponseCode() always throws an IOException when the size is bigger than 160k ...
