    Nokia N93

    Hello Everyone!

Pls I need your help concerning my problem with my new Nokia N93.

I purchased it last week in Dubai and brought it in Iran.

I have inserted my Iranian SIM Card. But I got no signal from the local network Operator.

I tried the SIM Card to a different phone and I got signal!

Can somebody help me with my problem in Nokia N93?

I read and followed what's written in the manual. But to no avail.

Greatly appreciate all your quick reply.

Hi vicgcandilanza! Welcome to Nokia Discussion Boards!!

N93 is a dual mode WCDMA/GSM and triband GSM coverage on up to five continents (EDGE/GSM 900/1800/1900 + WCDMA 2100 MHz networks).
Please make sure that your newtwork operator suppot the frequencies.

Also try with a different SIM card from a different operator. Make sure that your phone is not locked to a particular network, or not brought in operator aggrement. Is it an operator variant ?

I remember reading somewhere that in Iran you'd have to register the phone's IMEI before operators allow it on the network. I don't know if that is the case or not (if so, presumably phones sold in Iran are automatically registered that way, but if you import one yourself, it has to be done separately, in that case).
