    Hi kmsoomro,
I had this problem when using Carbide.c++ Express.
where I installed s60 3rd Ed MR on drive E: all on my XP system Disk partition on antother PC.

When I installed S60 on the c: it worked it has something to do with finding
    files in
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symbian\SDK Descriptors\Nokia
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symbian\installed2.xml
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symbian\devices.xml

I found these files when suddenly SDKs disappeared when I loaded UIQ_21 toolkit.
    I installed s60 3rd Ed MR again.

Does your enviroment path see these files

The s60 installer at the end allows you to select the default SDK which
updates the .xml files above. I believe the that the path should be
    %SystemRoot% or %HOMEDRIVE% or %HOMEPATH%

Carbide only reads this file and if it gets corrupted then the SDK's are missing.

So this means the Express, Developer, Professional versions all fail to find SDK.

I wonder if you could try copying the *.xml to by creating the path
    C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symbian

If this works let us know here

    Good Luck

    Jim

I think you have to install SDK and carbide on single drive and give worksapce name as c:\labs\workspace . so it create temp varible in that folder
