What I must do after got the x.csr and x.key?

I have had the "myDevCert.csr" and "myDevCert.key" by using the Symbian Developer Certificate Request Wizard Version v1.9.

What i must do after that?

I'm going to sign my sis file with Developer certification.

Then Signer(ex. Signsis.exe) needs to input the .cer and .key files.

    Is that all right?

Now what must i do after got the .csr and .key files?
How can i get the .cer and .key files?

    Please help me!

You have to submit your .csr file to SymbianSigned.com. Just login to your account and then select "Request DevCert".

After that, you should be able to download .cer.

Can you paste the command that you used to sign your application?
I have never encountered this problem, but may be I can get some hints looking at the command.

Actually signing is not mandatory in Symbian OS 7.0. So you can distribute your application without signing it.

Why do you want to sign your application?

    Hi,
I do agree that signing is not mandatory in Symbian OS 7.0.
But when we launch our application in market is it identified as an trusted application.

The application that i developed is based on client-server communiction (mobile-server system) so while communicating is it not must that we need to handshake the certificates for security.

    Thanks in Advance

Although I am not really interested in security, signing, certificates, etc., I would not think that a developer certificate would be useful for getting a trusted application.
Your devcert is said to be a "single-IMEI, no ACS Publisher id" one. Since IMEI-limited signing has no meaning in pre-3rd edition S60 devices, I would not be sure in that devcert can be used for signing pre-3rd edition S60 applications at all. On the other hand: since your devcert has no "ACS Publisher id" or any trusted certificate in the background, it proves nothing in practice.

I agree with wizard_hu. There is no point of signing production application with developer certificate. The user will still get notification that this application is development one and bla bla...

You have to send your application to Symbian Signed to get "proper" signing.

    Hi,
    Thanks for the reply.
I want to know one more thing ,is there any support for openSSL in Symbian (v7.0s) or any similar feature (API) that provide both Seccurity authentication and certification for the application in Client -Server Architectur module.
