    Console exe and emulator

    Configuration: carbide.vs - VS.NET - S60 3rd MR

I created a console exe using the wizard, it compiles fine, but it runs only from the binaries directory \epoc\release\<platform>\udeb.
Starting the application inside VS is not possible (start without debugging), the emulator crash.

    Thanks in advance

Can you start the emulator from the Windows Start->Programs menu?

Essentially starting from Windows Start is equivalent to "Start without debug" so I cannot really see why you get different behaviour. If you choose Start instead you get info into the output window, what happens when you do that?

Btw, what is your Debugging -> Command setting in the project properties?

    Re: Console exe and emulator

Sorry, I correct myself, I could (after installation of S60_3rd_MR) to run the emulator from start menu.
    Right now the emulator crash.

But I can run the helloworldbasic S60 application from VS.NET and I can run
the console .exe from inside its directory.

I cannot start the epoc emulator (not anymore).

    Thanks

    Re: Console exe and emulator

Well, I'm no SDK expert but unless you can start the emulator from Windows Start, there is no chance that you can do it from VS :-(.

Best is to try to launch the emulator via "Start" for an application, that will give you information in the Output window of what is going on..

You can also check the epocwind.out log file found in your Temp directory, normally found in C:\Documents and Settings\your_username\Local Settings\Temp.

    Re: Console exe and emulator

    I've resolved.

Yesterday I compiled InternetEmail application by Forum Nokia and I started it.
This was the only thing I did that could create problems.

I removed InternetEmail from VS.NET and all the InternetEmail from Epoc32 and the emulator works.

    Thank you mitts.
