    Creating a dialog box

    Hi all,
    Iam working on symbian for the past 1 month.

    I worked on some examples given in SDK.

    I would like to create a dialog box....
    I tried to do so but could not get the output....
    I am getting errors like ".rsg file cannot be opened" and so on....
    please if anyone can suggest me for this problem I can send my code.

    Iam using the following software:
    symbian 8.0a
    CodeWarrior for Symbian v3.1
    2nd Edition SDK Feaure Pack 2

    Kindly suggest me the solution at the earliest
    IET.

    Welcome to Forum Nokia.

    BTW in your case I guess the RSG file is not created because there may be some syntax error in your RSS file. RSG file is a definition file which will be created after compiling you RSS file. The RSG file we used to include in the CPP file.

    Re: Creating a dialog box

    thanks for the prompt reply....
    In my RSS file there is an error

    RESOURCE MENU_BAR r_simpledlg_menubar
    {
    titles =
    {
    MENU_TITLE {menu_pane = r_simpledlg_menu;}
    };
    }

    the error mark is shown in the MENU_TITLE line as "Link name not found"

    Here what should I rectify?

    Regards

    appinfo.rh file not found

    yeah I rectified the problem by defining the r_simpledlg_menu... now a new error popped up
    In the simpledlg_reg.rss :

    #include <appinfo.rh>
    UID2 KUidAppRegistrationResourceFile
    UID3 0x075A5907

    RESOURCE APP_REGISTRATION_INFO
    {
    app_file="SimpleDlg";
    //
    localisable_resource_file="\\resource\\apps\\SimpleDlg_loc";
    //
    }

    There is an error in #include <appinfo.rh> saying that " appinfo.rh file not found".

    what to do?
    Please suggest.
    Regards,
    IET.

    Thanks A lot

    Thanks to all of you for giving me such valuable suggestions....

    Finally without any errors my dialog program got compiled and linked.......

    no compilation and link errors....

    the emulator started and the icon also appeared but when I click the icon to open "system error" is popping up....

    what could be the problem?Is it the emulator problem or the code?

    Regards

    It seems to be a emulator proble m but for safe side just keep a break pont at Constructl function of Appui and debug if there is not code problem then it will debug fine

    Re: Creating a dialog box

    If you are getting the errors like .rsg cannot be opened, then it means that
    your rss file has some errors since rsg is generated after the rss is compiled.

    So check your rss file first.

    Checking the dates (2006-10-12 11:14) can be also handy.
