    get read/wirte permission of application

    Hi,
    I am developing one application by using FileConnection API. My requirement is,
    Whenever user launch the application, Application will get the properties of user read data/user write data permission. if they set the permission like "Always Ask" then application will close otherwise application will launch.

    For this, how can i get read/write permissions of application?. Please help in this query.

    Thanks & Regards
    Siva

    Re: get read/wirte permission of application

    Hi,
    Thank you for this. One of my friend also told that MIDlet.checkPermission() method will use to get user permission. I am using bellow example,
    MIDlet.checkPermission("Read user data");

    this method is returning 0. Can you please give help how to get read and write user data permission.

    Thanks & Regards
    Siva

    How about MIDlet.checkPermission("javax.microedition.io.Connector.file.read")?

    Hi Siva,

    MIDlet.checkPermission("Read user data");
    Hum, this method is not be used this way but as hnipak suggested, ok? It won't address your requirement anyway.

    hi,

    Returns:
    0 if the permission is denied; 1 if the permission is allowed; -1 if the status is unknown
    not more information given,

    regards,
