Unhappy Help with Multimedia converter problem

I wonder if anyone can help with my problem.

I used Multimedia converter with no problem for last 12 months.
I recently purchased an new PC Dell Dimension 5150 and loaded Multimedia converter but it just will not run.

When I try an open it I just get a windows message that says it has encountered a problem and had to close down. I cannot find any system problem as it won't open. Have tried uninstall reinstall and still no joy.

Please can someone help me as I have a number of projects I need to finish and cannot get into.

Hi sorrento! Welcome to Nokia Discussion Boards!!

Please make sure that you do satisfy the System requirements for Nokia MMC

    System Requirements:
    ====================
    - Microsoft Windows 2000 with SP3 or Windows XP with SP1.
    - At least 500MHz Pentium class PC with 256MB RAM, 64K colors,
    60MB disk space and soundcard.

Also ensure that you are using the latest version of MMC available in Forum Nokia. Give a try with cleaning the unwanted Registry entries(May be by using a registry cleaner software.)
Are you getting any error messages while installing? Please go through Nokia Multimedia Converter 2.0 - Release Notes available in this link http://www.forum.nokia.com/info/sw.n...eNote.txt.html

    Regards
    Gopal

System has spec and reg is clean.

Only thing is that my OS is Windows XP service pack 2.

Will this make a difference and stop MMC from working if so is there some form of patch?

This problem is driving me crazy!

Re: Help with Multimedia converter problem

    hi,

Dell machines has some extra security add-ons compared to other machines (just learned that from my other job),
please review system log event - or any installed machine security like software - for entries that can be related to your MMC crash,
you can disable DEP (data execution prevention), WindowsFirewall or anything else temporaily just to try to run your other software,

    regards,
    Peter
