RE: Who can own a Nokia M2M Gateway?

There are two choices in operating a Nokia M2M Gateway:

    Corporate Host Model:

With a corporate hosted Gateway model, the company can operate and manage the Nokia M2M Gateway along with the server applications using it for connectivity to remote applications. Wireless connectivity services, for example SMS-Centre access, can be rented from a network operator or the company can operate its own modem pool to provide access to the remote applications through a standard fixed network. The Corporate Edition of the Nokia M2M Gateway 2.0 is specifically designed to be hosted by corporations,

    Service provider Host Model:

The Nokia M2M Gateway can also be located in the operator's domain -- in the telecom operator's network or operated by a third party service provider. Additional benefits of Nokia's M2M Platform from this approach are that the company can concentrate on its core business leaving the communications path management to the operator. The Service provider Edition of the Nokia M2M Gateway 2.0 is specifically designed to be hosted by operators or service providers.
