    I have installed on my PC first SERIES 60 2ND EDITION SDK SUPPORTING METROWERKS CODEWARRIOR and then UIQ 3 SDK and after i installed Cardibe.c++ Express.

    Other question:

    Do you have start menu entries in Programs for both SDKs?

    Sorry but i don't understand your question. I can launch and use both SDK emulator and program. But when i create a new project for S60 or UIQ Carbide dons't see SDK, i click on Rescan Now button i get this message: "No SDKs were found. Make sure you have a valid devilce.xml file or defined SDK".
    How do i will configure EPOCROOT path ?

    Re: Carbide.c++ Express and SDK

    Well, that' s just to check if the installation of the SDKs is correct. The start menu entry is useful for example to view the SDK documentation.

    Are you sure that an UIQ SDK is compatible with Carbide? There is no note on the Nokia forum webpage nor is it offered to download. I had a problem using an S60 v1.2 SDK which is not offerd there either and I got a feedback that it is not supported by Carbide. Well, somehow I can work with it.

    Try deinstalling both SDKs. Then reinstall the 2nd edition SDK and check if it is seen by Carbide. When installed the next SDK it will ask you to choose one as default. I think, but am not sure, this is responsible for the EPOCROOT setting later.
    If you install the UIQ SDK and you are not asked it may not be compatible to the rest and destroyed your configuration.

    BTW: Carbide.C++ express must be installed as very first. Then continue by installing Perl, then the SDKs. Of course, a Java RE must be installed too.

    Does it help?

    Otto, these SDKs should work. It might be a problem with your devices.xml. For a sanity check, 1) Make sure your 'id' for the UIQ3 SDK is "UIQ3" and 2) make sure 'epocroot' path exists.

    Then you can hit 'rescan' in the SDK preferences page and if you have correct SDKs and devices.xml they will appear. It doesn't matter what order you install things in.

    If all fails, post your devices.xml content.

    Hi and congratulation!

    some errors are so very silly that they are hardly to find.

    But there are a lot more silly things that are waiting for you. See:

    I have included your hint in my list.

    Have a lot of fun ...

    Thanks for posting that. You should not have the problem of finding devices.xml on the Developer ed. It correctly scans the registry for the proper path.

    Re: Carbide.c++ Express and SDK

    Hi ottorino,

    did you change the build configuration from Emulator Debug -> Phone (...) release?

    In the menu bar of the upper right window you can find an "i" and a down arrow right next to it. It opens a drop down list where you can choose the target. This is also demonstrated in the screencast about Carbide.c++.

    If you have generated a project from the Carbide templates this will work. Importing examples from other sources I had some problems with bad .pkg files which I still haven't solved.
