    eclipse + eclipseme + wtk2.1 + ??

    Hi all,

I am a newbie and would like to start with running the classic hello world application on a series 80 symbian os on a nokia 9300. My development platform runs a Linux OS, eclipse 3.1 eclipseme 1.5.5, proguard2.1 and sun javas wtk2.1.

My question is... do i need any other sdk's inorder to achieve my task? and if so can anyone suggest where I can get these tools/sdk's. Also if anyone can point me to begginers tutorial to get me started with the s80 series phones would be great.

I have found a great tutorial for introduction into eclipse, eclipseme, proguard and wtk2.1 so i just know the basics to get this going.

I look forward to your responces.

    Re: eclipse + eclipseme + wtk2.1 + ??

    Hi again,

I am currently reading the s80 midp installation guide found on the nokia site, its has a section that requests to install the "Nokias Development Suite for J2ME" from what I understand this is now Carbide.j ... system specs requiere Windows OS but I am running on Linux ... is there an eclipse extension for the carbide.j toolset/sdk ?? and if so how can this be done.

    Cheers

I think your just gonna have to deal with the Java WTL that runs on linux for now, unfortunately.

    Good luck

    hi thanks for the reply,

I am abit confused by your reply.. do you mean I am able to use the carbide.j sdk ie jars to write and compile code in eclipse but instead use the wtk2.1 to test my application?
