    Compiler Auto-Conversion option

    Hi Guys,

    I am facing conversion related error messages on compiling with carbide.

    (D:\From_IAxis\workspace\VoIPSIP1\VoIP\Protocols\sip\326x\source\util\src\hs_sip326x_copy_util.cpp|1495|55|1|51741|1)
    = src_data_lp = hs_fwk_list_data(list_temp_node_lp);
    >illegal implicit conversion from 'void *' to
    >'char *'

    I searched for "Allow auto conversion" similar option in carbide but couldn't find. Similar option is present in GNU GCC compiler where I was able to compile the application successfully.

    How can I workaround this problem?
    Can anybody help me out on this?

    Thanks!
    Syamal

    Hi,

    Have you tried to cast it explicitly using (char*)?

    Implicit pointer narrowing is not part of the C++ language, thus you should not depend on this possibility in general.
    Since S60 SDK-s use GCC C/C++ compiler, you should be able to use the very same option anyway.
