    Question Construct a Dialog from source (without resourceID)

    Hi,

    does anybody know if it is possible to create a CAknDialog (or CEikDialog) from source without providing a resource ID?

    Yes it is possible..could you be a bit more specific which dialog you want to create!
    Have a look on the sdk. create a object for that dialog and add the functionalities.

    Hi Priju,

    Wow, that was a fast response!
    I would like to do the following:
    Create a dialog derived from CAknDialog (or CEikDialog) that has:
    - it's own drawing
    - it's own CBA
    - Can take any CCoeControl derived class as a child
    - Can be adjusted to be modal or non-modal (i.e. notifications (non-modal) or queries (modal)).

    I know that are quite some requirements. Basically I try to figure out whether I should use CCoeControl as base class or one of the dialog classes provided by Symbian/S60.

    solved.
    I found an example for S60 2nd edition which shows what to do.
    Just if someone is interested:
    I will use custom dialogs based on CCoeControl.
