Using IrDa port in SIR mode with Java

    HI,

I've written an application for PALM-OS to exchange data with a custom device with IrDA; that device has an IR port but no IrDA protocol stack implemented. It was possible opening the IrDA port in SIR mode on the PALM.
Now I'm trying to do the same thing with an S60 phone (E50).
Is there a way to open a Comm Connection fo IR ? I mean with no protocols
at all: if I send a 0x41 over the port I would like to see a 0x41 on the other end of the cable and nothing else.
    Thank you.

No, in a Nokia you talk IrCOMM. Some devices allow IrOBEX. So in any way, you need to implement at least up to TinyTP.
