SMIL2MMS: A tool to create and deploy MMS files

Being frustrated with the implementation of the Adobe Golive MMS extensions for Nokia, I decided to build a small Windows utility to do a better job wrapping the 3 Nokia utilities (converter.exe, deploy.exe, and mms2http.exe). By using my utility you will no longer need to use Adobe GoLive to encapsulate SMIL files as MMS, or to deploy them to the emulator or a host server.

The utility is available for anyone who would like to use it at at http://www.facetofacesoftware.com/smil2mms.exe. I have tried to put as much error checking in as possible, but am restricted by what the 3 Nokia utilities return as far as errors. In the future it might also be nice to do a syntax check on the source SMIL file, since the converter.exe doesn't do much to report on syntax or content problems.

Let me know what you think.

Jim, this sounds great! Smil2MMS seems to want MFC70.dll, however. Does that sound normal? Can you help?

    Thanks Jim

Looks great - started without MFC dependancy error

Will give you feedback after testing

RE: SMIL2MMS: A tool to create and deploy MMS files

    Hi Jim,

I have tested your smil2mms.exe stuff in my Series60 Emualtor, it is working fine. And I would like to know how can I send multiple addresses (cc, bcc and email), if so how can I test in my series60 emulator using your smil2mms interface.

Pls help me out in this regard.

    Thanks in advance

    Cheers
