How2get Pixel resolution of Nokia Mobile Browser?

    Hi,

I need to know how to get the mobile browser's Pixel resolution like 320x240 or 176x228, 240x320. I use to look into header of the browser but can not find any. How and where to look for this info??

Will browser's header contain such info?? Where to get this info? So that I know what size the photo the browser requires.

    Please help.

    Thanks

I do not think it is in the headers. You can get the information from here using the UserAgent header info
    http://nds.nokia.com/uaprof/uaprof_list.txt

    for example N80
    http://nds.nokia.com/uaprof/NN80-1r100.xml

    Hi Hartti,

Thank for the links. It seems it is XML file. Can you kindly advise how to detect nokia browser using code?? WHAT DLL or Library I need ? What Http-args I need to use in the code for User agent detection?

Can you show me an example?

    Thanks

Link to profile (if it has one can be found in the following headers)

    'X-Wap-Profile'
    'Profile'
or '19-profile' where 19 can be any number and usually declared as the namespace in the OPT header where ns=(the Number) in this case 19.

Sometimes a handset will declare these headers :-
    'x-up-devcap-screenpixels' or 'ua-pixels'

    eg 128*128 or 128x128 or 128,128

It wont always be present as not all devices will declare them.

Some handsets support UAprof and have a URL link to the XML file in one of the headers (x-wap-profile,profile, **-profile).

You would then need to fetch that XML file from that URL using a HTTP Request, then Parse the XML file looking for the value in this tag :-
    <prf:ScreenSize>128x128</prf:ScreenSize>

If there is no profile link you can check to see if those other 2 headers are present and use the value in those headers.

Its not a simple process for the un-initiated, so you maybe better off using one of the existing open source profiling systems out there like Wurfl.
