    Still about Symbian certificates

    (Why I start a new thread, my old thread disappeared an unknow way
    from the list!)

    Thanks lfd about answer.

    I still would ask more.
    Let's suppose somebody wants to make an application
    working in 2rd and 3rd.

    Can be possible if he knows what functions (API) are
    protected in 3rd.

    For example he knows that he can read files
    and make GUI and use graphics but cannot write to memory and cannot
    send mms and cannot access message inbox.
    Then the developer perhaps can use only alloved API
    and still make good application (as game without "save the game" option).

    Is it really so that Symban do not provide any
    kind of list to tell about protected features (API)?

    Thanks

    "big_pig", with a click on your user name you can easily find a list of your posts (23 to date). There is a conversation with "lfd" here

    Yes, it is possible to write applications that will run on both S60 2nd Edition and S60 3rd Edition. The APIs are documented in the SDK, there is a list of deprecated or removed APIs and Forum Nokia's examples can be read as examples on how the application "porting" can be done.
