    Wait Dialog Help

    Has anyone dynamically changed the label in a wait dialog? I have put this statement in my StepL()
    iWaitNoteWrapper->WaitDialog()->SetTextL(_L("Text1"))

    But when I do this, it acts very weird and a member variable that I use as a flag in IsProcessDone() to check if the process has completed keeps getting reset so the dialog never disappears and StepL() keeps getting called. Everything works fine when I remove that line though.
    Has anyone successully used that line to change the dialog's text???

    Re: Wait Dialog Help

    u can change the text on wait dialog using

    iWaitNote->waitNoteWrapper->WaitDialog()->SetTextL(iDisplayMessage);

    where

    WaitDailogClass* iWaitNote; should be declared in header file of class in which u want to change the text on wait dialog

    class WaitDailogClass : public MAknBackgroundProcess
    {

    }
    and
    CAknWaitNoteWrapper* waitNoteWrapper; should be declared in header file of wait dialog class

    Re: Wait Dialog Help

    Thanks for the help. I realized that the issue is that the string passed to the function has to be on the heap so it has to be a HBufC*. Once I did that instead of passing it a stack variable, it worked fine.
