Nokia 5300 - games content folder

The question is: how to force installation of Java application into "Games" folder. Usually we use Nokia-MIDlet-Category field in jad but it doesn't work on Nokia 5300. Content-Folder field is ignored as well. Is it possible to do?

    hi Cobok,

    welcome at FN!

    if I read that correctly:
    http://forum.nokia.com/Technical_Lib...r_a_MIDlet.htm
    http://forum.nokia.com/Technical_Lib...ia_devices.htm
    (posted according to release date)
Nokia-MIDlet-Category is no longer used by default at S403rd edition devices (which 5300 is):
In Series 40 3rd Edition and later, MIDlets are by default installed to Applications. The user can move the MIDlet location within the Application menu.
For MIDlets downloaded and installed over-the-air, the user can set Automatic Saving OFF (from Web application | Downloading Settings) if he or she wants to choose the installation folder for each installed MIDlet separately. If the setting is ON, they will be installed to the default folder, i.e. to the Application menu root (Series 40 3rd Edition) or the Games folder (Series 40 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 1 or later).
In addition, there may be operator variant-specific settings.
    hth,
    regards,
    Peter

Re: Nokia 5300 - games content folder

    hi,
    in addition:
Nokia has also introduced a JAD attribute called Nokia-MIDlet-Category, which is, however, not supported from Series 40 Third Edition onwards. If this is used in the application and is set to Game, then the application will be saved within the Games menu. All other applications that do not contain this attribute will be saved within the Application menu.
    Series 40 devices

    regards,
    Peter
