Angry The enigma that is RDebug

    Hi.

I'm new to symbian and carbide.c++ and I was searching for a way to print text to the debug console. After reading the forums, I found several posts stating that "View process output" has to be checked in order for RDebug to print text to the debug console.

I did as suggested and guess what.....it didn't work.
I wasted 1 whole day trying to get this bloody thing to work and figuring out if I was missing some step.

In the end, it was a line in the "file epoc.ini" in the path \Symbian\9.2\S60_3rd_FP1\Epoc32\Data\ that was the real cause of why I still couldn't view debug messages in the console. Heck....I didn't even touch that file.

To save future symbian newbies the pain and anguish I felt, I decided to post this thread. Open the above-mentioned file and edit the lines

    LogToFile 0
    LogToDebugger 1

in order to enable printing text to the bloody debug console.

Excellent information. I'll add this to the "Hints and Tips" thread.
