    Question how to erase ram memory?

    hello people,

    I need to delete ram memory each time 7710 shutsdown,
    is there any function that erase RAM?
    Is there any function that power off like if I remove battery?

    happy christmas! and good new year for all of you.

    best regards,
    Antonio

    But I hope the contents of RAM will be removed while rebooting the device, isn't it? RAM - Random Access Memory, normally it's a volatile memory, if power goes automatically the data will be erased, then why you need to erase it programmatic.

    Re: how to erase ram memory?

    Thank you for your replies.

    I need to erase ram memory to make my recognizer that auto-start my application work.

    nokia 7710 seems to do two different boot secuences
    a.- when you power off phone, and then power on. --> recognizer is not executed--> application not executed.
    b.- when you power off, remove battery, and then power on --> Symbian executes my recognizer --> my application is executed.

    Any way to erase RAM?
    Or any registry where symbian remember if it already executed recognizer in previous boot?.

    Best regards
    Antonio

    Instead of trying to erase the RAM as a workaround, perhaps you should fix your recognizer?

    Thank you for your reply Petrib,

    I think my recognizer is Ok, do you know what should I fix?

    Code:
    EXPORT_C CApaDataRecognizerType* CreateRecognizer()
    {
    	User::After(30000000);

    	_LIT(KMyExe,"d:\\system\\apps\\starter\\starter.exe");
    	TFileName dllFileName;
    	Dll::FileName(dllFileName);
    	TParsePtrC ptr(dllFileName);

    	TParse parse;
    	parse.Set(ptr.Drive(),&KMyExe,NULL);

    	TFileName fileName=parse.FullName();
    	RProcess process;
    	TInt err=process.Create(fileName,KNullDesC());
    	if (err==KErrNone)
    	{
    		process.Resume();
    		process.Close();
    	}

    	return (CApaDataRecognizerType*)new CclAutostart();;
    }
    Best regards
    Antonio
