    WLAN access point connection

I am try develop an application that automatically uses a WLAN access point as its IAP. I have found relevant code the Forum Nokia Technical Library which I am trying to use. The problem is that I have just found out that one of the necessary header files: apaccesspointitem.h does not compile.

My question is, is there a workaround to allow the SDK to create a WLAN IAP and connect to it automatically?

On which SDK are you trying? That example in FN Technical Library is for 3rd Ed and that header file is there with 3rd Ed. SDK.

It's in the 3rd edition maintenance release, but I think it was missing from the original 3rd ed SDK.

But that header file is there in the original 3rd Ed. SDK, I've attached with this thread.

    Re: WLAN access point connection

I am using the original 3rd edition SDK (its in my sig). I know the file is there, the problem is that the release notes say that the file does not compile. When I include the header file in my project, I get errors that do not refer to my code but to code in the apaccesspointitem.h file (something about RMobileCall).

So what I want to know is whether there is a workaround for this to get the header file to compile, or do I need to get a later versions of the 3rd Edition SDK, the MR version perhaps?

I was lazy... didn't checked the Release note by that time, but this line is there in release note, don't you see that?

    - SDK file apaccesspointitem.h fails to compile. The class
CApAccessPointItem is unusable in the public SDK. This will be
corrected in future releases of S60
    .
I don't know any workaround for this. May be you can try this on 3rd MR or FP1.

I just wanted confirmation that it does indeed work in a later release before downloading another SDK. I try one of the later versions to see if it has been fixed.

I was lazy too, I forgot it was there in the original but was unusable. It definitely compiles in the MR.

    Re: WLAN access point connection

I tried the MR and it doesn't complain about that header file anymore, which is good.

My problem now is that I am trying to implement the code snippet from the FN Technical Library, but it doesn't indicate what header file/libraries to include. I am getting a lot of errors referring to undeclared identifiers but I'm unsure where these are declared.

I took a look around in the api reference guide and searched for the problem declarations, but it would be helpful if the code snippet would indicate this alongside the code
