    Problems with OMA setting to manage a SIP configuration On a s60

    Hi All ....

    I'm new about this forum, and i'm new about nokia problem

    I have this problem:

    i 'm trying to send this OMA xml configuration like this one:

    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <!DOCTYPE wap-provisioningdoc PUBLIC "-//WAPFORUM//DTD PROV 1.0//EN"
    "http://www.wapforum.org/DTD/prov.dtd">
    <wap-provisioningdoc version="1.1">
    <characteristic type="APPLICATION">
    <parm name="APPID" value="w9010"/>
    <parm name="PROVIDER-ID" value="Operator X SIP"/>
    <parm name="PTYPE" value="IETF"/>
    <parm name="PUID" value="joe@example.com"/>
    <parm name="NAME" value="Operator X SIP settings"/>
    <parm name="APROTOCOL" value="TCP"/>
    <parm name="TO-NAPID" value="OperatorXInet"/>
    <parm name="SIGNALCMPR"/>
    <parm name="LOCK"/>
    <parm name="AUTOREG"/>
    <characteristic type="APPADDR">
    <parm name="LR"/>
    <parm name="ADDR" value="outbound.example.com"/>
    <characteristic type="PORT">
    <parm name="PORTNBR" value="5068"/>
    </characteristic><!-- PORT -->
    </characteristic><!-- APPADDR -->
    <characteristic type="APPAUTH">
    <parm name="AAUTHNAME" value="joe"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHSECRET" value="jasd7GEHfd78b"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHDATA" value="outbound at example.com"/>
    </characteristic><!-- APPAUTH -->
    <characteristic type="RESOURCE">
    <parm name="URI" value="registrar.example.com:5068;transport=TCP"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHNAME" value="joe"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHSECRET" value="jasd7GEHfd78b"/>
    <parm name="AAUTHDATA" value="registrar at example.com"/>
    </characteristic><!-- RESOURCE -->
    </characteristic><!-- APPLICATION -->
    <characteristic type="NAPDEF">
    <parm name="NAPID" value="OperatorXInet"/>
    <parm name="INTERNET"/>
    <parm name="BEARER" value="GSM-GPRS"/>
    <!-- ... as usual -->
    </characteristic><!-- NAPDEF -->
    </wap-provisioningdoc>

    to taduce it with in a binary wap i use OMA-WAP-ProvCont-v1_1-20050428-C.pdf documentation, but i have no reference to PTYPE and PUID parameters. I don't know how to convert them in hexadecimal token.

    How i have to do ? Where i can take this information.

    Thanks in advance

    Application-specific special parameters are not converged into hexadecimals but they are sent as inline string.

    Hi seppo thanks for helping,

    another little question about this issue. For inline string you mean this format:
    example for <parm name="PTYPE" value="IETF"/>

    became PTYPE=IETF?

    Thanks in advance

    Did you get the OMA settings working?
    Do we have to be a mobile operator or anyone with a GSM Modem can send these settings OTA.

    Kindly share an example as to how you achieved it.

    teeli,

    You should be able to send the messages with a GSM modem using e.g. the trial version of NowSMS (www.nowsms.com).

    cheers,
    petro
