    Display Chinese Character in MMS-capable phone

    Hello !

    Now I'm working on sending chinese texts to EAIF emulator, and reading it by EPOC.

    First I encode the text to UTF-8 by using the String method getBytes("utf-8&quot,
    then overwrite the class MMEncoder in nokia java library:
    m_Out.write(nContentType);
    m_Out.write(0x81); // charset parameter
    m_Out.write(0x83); // us-ascii code
    to
    m_Out.write(nContentType);
    m_Out.write(0x81); // charset parameter
    m_Out.write(0xEA); // unicode code
    But the text is still unreadable...
    Is there some steps wrong or just the EPOC doesn't support chinese
    EPOC version: Nokia_Series_60_MMS_SDK_Beta_0_2

    Thank you.

    RE: Display Chinese Character in MMS-capable phone

    Seems none wants to reply this question. I have find the answer
    myself. the epoc released by nokia forum does not support chinese
    character, but the above steps to encode the char is right. I can
    read chinese char in nokia 7650 now.

    Hope others would not be confused by these "char conversion" problem
