Overview

Caps Lock in password fields

Description

On normal edit fields (CEikEdWin), when you press Caps Lock you get a square cursor that indicates that the lock is on. When writing a password field using the CEikSecretEditor control, the Caps Lock indicator does not work. When going to Nokia 9300 | Control Panel | Connections | Internet setup | New | Internet setup | Password, you can see that the password field takes Caps Lock and gives you the square cursor. How can you get the Caps Lock indicator cursor to work in secret fields?

Solution

CEikSecretEditor does not support Caps Lock. Use CCknSecretEditor instead. CCknSecretEditor takes Caps Lock.

Summary

Use CCknSecretEditor.
