Overview

The browser in Symbian devices since S60 3rd Edition FP2 uses Central Repository keys for storing the default destination network. The values of these keys have been changed in Nokia N8.

Detailed description

Central repository keys for browser access point settings are defined in browseruisdkcrkeys.h as KBrowserAccessPointSelectionMode and KBrowserNGDefaultSnapId. Other applications can make use of this setting for creating network connections automatically, without having to display a destination/access point selection dialog to the user.

Values defined in browseruisdkcrkeys.h:

const TUint32 KBrowserAccessPointSelectionMode = 0x0000001E;
const TUint32 KBrowserNGDefaultSnapId = 0x00000053;

However, the browser in Nokia N8 uses different keys for storing the default destination network ID.

Solution

Use the following Central Repository key values for retrieving the default destination network ID in Nokia N8:

const TUint32 KBrowserOccAccessPointSelectionMode = 0x00000084;
const TUint32 KBrowserOccNGDefaultSnapId = 0x00000085;
