What is Firmware

Firmware is software that is embedded in a hardware device. It is often provided on flash ROMs or as a binary image file that can be uploaded onto existing hardware by a user

What is the use of Firmware

As manufacturers continue to develop their products they rewrite the firmware. They might write in bug fixes and performance improvements.

How to upgrade the Firmware

Firmware is available for download from manufacturers' web sites and from support sites.

On Nokia mobile phones, type *#0000# in standby mode to find out what version your firmware is. To update or re-install it, if possible, use Nokia Software Updater
