Introduction

To use a Bing Map control in Windows Phone 7.5, we need to have a Bing Maps Key, which can be accessed from Bing Maps Account Center. This article explains how to get that key.

Getting Bing Maps Key

To use a Bing Map control in our Windows Phone 7.5 project, we need to have a Bing Map account at Bing Maps Account Center with a Windows Live ID. After the account is created, we can get the KEY from the account to use in our application.

Below are the screenshots shown to give an idea of the process, considering you have logged in successfully at the above mentioned site with your Windows Live ID.

Screen to create a Bing Map account
Click on 'Create or views keys' to create a key
Provide the required information in order to create the application key
The key will be shown at the bottom of the page

Summary

The obtained key can then be used with a Bing Map control.
