Overview

Switching profiles have been possible in Nokia Symbian 3rd edition devices. We can switch various profiles in python for Symbian using the xprofile module of Cyke64.

Preconditions

  • The extension works only in Symbian 3rd edition devices with python 1.4.x releases.
  • However till date there are no public libraries for switching profiles in the Symbian 2nd edition devices.

Code Snippet

The following is a code for swapping profiles and contains the basic functions of xprofile

import xprofile

# get profile (for api completion !)
print xprofile.get_ap()

# set active profile to "General Profile"
xprofile.set_ap(0)

# set active profile to "Silent Profile"
xprofile.set_ap(1)

# set active profile to "Meeting"
xprofile.set_ap(2)

# set active profile to "Offline"
xprofile.set_ap(5)

# set active profile to your first "user profile"
xprofile.set_ap(30)
