Description

SortedList instances represent a selectable user interface object that displays a sorted list of text items. Using the FILTER style adds a text entry field to the widget which enables the filtering of list items so that fewer items are displayed in the list.

However, on S60 5th Edition devices, SortedList's filter editor cannot be used, as tapping the entry field has no effect.

How to reproduce

Download and install a test MIDlet (eSWT Showcase) from the Nokia Developer Java Developer's Library:

http://library.developer.nokia.com/index.jsp?topic=/Java_Developers_Library/GUID-660EC670-B7DB-4005-BF2D-411E5C0B3867_overview-d0e99645.html

  1. From the main menu, select Lists.
  2. From Lists, select Gem Lookup.
  3. Try to tap the text entry field for the filter editor.

Solution

No solution for S60 5th Edition and Nokia N97 SDK emulators.

No solution for the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic.

This issue has been fixed for the Nokia N97, starting with second commercial software releases (v 20.0.019).
