Realchamp - No events getting added only after code signing

Hello All,

I Am trying to set reminder via app and its working without code sign and the same will not work after code signing. And I tried adding PIM permissions and tested but the reminder is not getting added to phone. How can I solve this ??

A quick reply will be more appreciated.

Hamishwillee - Suggest you try the forums

Hi Realchamp

As this is a direct question about the app attached to this article you've raised it in the right place. However authors don't always watch articles so normally I'd suggest you ask on the discussion boards and link to the article (that gets more eyes on the problem), and also ask here with a link to the discussion board.

The author is likely no longer watching this, but looking at the articlemetadata this was recently retested on Asha 501 and worked, so I will ask the reviewer. Please confirm that you were testing on Asha 501 and if not what other device/SDK combo you used.

Skalogir - More info is needed

Hi Realchamp,

Can you please provide the protected method calls that you use in your application, i.e. the methods that cause the security prompts to appear? Can you also provide the permissions you have added to your application as well as your target devices?

Javier Muñoz - Set sound to event

I'm developing an app and I need to set events form some issues. I get to set the events to the calendar but I can't get to put sound alarm to this events. How can I do that? I'm using SDK 2.0 to develop my app in nokia 305 and 311...and in the future for the new Asha phones

Hamishwillee - Javier Muñoz - suggest you post on Java forums

Hi Javier

More people will be watching the forums than this article. Suggest you raise the request on the Java General forum, and link to here.

Hamishwillee - Thanks very much

I've sent the link on dibo to a technical expert. They may take some time to get to this though.

Skalogir - Answer provided in the thread

Hi Javier,

By default there is no sound in a Calendar event. You need to enable the reminder option to a value other than none. Please note that when you do this, the reminder tone and volume level will be taken from the device's settings. You can not override the sound tone and sound level. I have added a snippet here:

Let me know if this isn't clear.

Hamishwillee - Awesome!

Thanks Stratos. I've reordered this to include your new section at the end, since it isn't part of the main code snippet and presumably not in the code example. However to make it easier to find, I linked from the overview. Hope this OK.
