Talk:HTTP digest access authentication in Java ME

From Wiki

Hamishwillee - Gee you've been busy!

Thank you for this, another useful one. I've given it a quick scan and just made a few minor changes to the English.

In terms of suggestions for improvement I don't have any, except perhaps any references (other than provided inline) you would recommend.

I do have a question though. Where might you expect to see this article in a category hierarchy? At the moment we have categories Networking, HTTP, TLS/SSL and clearly this belongs in the first two. However we're moving to a category hieararchy so need to think where else "authentication topics might be found". ie could this be in:

  • Web Services on Java ME
** Web Services Authentication on Java ME <-- here

or

  • Security on Java ME
    • Web Security on Java ME <- here

or

  • Networking
    • Network Authentication on Java ME

or

  • Web Services on Java ME
    • Network Authentication on Java ME

Just wondering where you would expect to see it? At the moment we might not have enough topics to justify a deeper category than networking that possibly lives in different parent topics, but it seems to me that Networking alone might not be sufficient.

Regards

H

Jappit -

I'm actually unsure about the best categorization, but probably the "Security on Java ME -> Web Security on Java ME" is more general and would let developers find the article more easily.

As for references, I don't have any at the moment, but something can surely be added: will do it asap.

Hamishwillee - Thank you.

I think we'll add to "Security on Java ME" first. If we get enough topics we'll create the subcategory "Web Security on Java ME". Much appreciated.
