Talk:Install the In-Application Purchase API on Qt SDK 1.2
What about remote compiler? -
"Note: as full support for the Symbian tool chain is only available in the Qt SDK release for Windows, the setup has not be tested on Linux and MacOS."What about Remote Compiler? You can build Symbian apps on Linux using remote compiler. So is it possible to add IAP support to remote compiler?

Re: What about remote compiler? That's a good point, we'll try to enable it there as well...

Fernando.moreno - File Not Found

Ltomuta - Re: File Not Found
Hi Fernando, sorry for the late reply:The link as such is supposed to be "broken" since it points to a directory which cannot be browsed. It his however just a base URL and once you add it to the installer or to the maintenance tool it will be expended to point to for example http://nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com/extras/inapppurchase/repository/Updates.xml (this file exists) and other URLs are constructed based on XML file's content.

I cannot install iap into qtsdk 1.2.1 from http://nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com/extras/inapppurchase/repository/Updates.xml.
Could you please provide working new link or repair broken. Thanks Hozjan

Ltomuta - @ Hozjan
The link to updates.xml works which means that if you add http://nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com/extras/inapppurchase/repository to the installer, as instructed in the article, it should all work.
If it does not, please provide the following info:
- error message
- installation log file (from SDK's root directory)
- the IP of the nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com server in your region (call ping with the server name as parameter)

Hozjan - Re: Ltomuta - @ Hozjan
Thank you for quick response.
Today repository works without problem. I successfully installed iap api.FYI: Yesterday when I put address http://nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com/extras/inapppurchase/repository into sdkmaintancetool, it didn't start downloading package information, when I used http://nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com/extras/inapppurchase/repository/Updates.xml resulted in error message so I was not able to install iap.

Ltomuta - Re: Error While Installing
A purge was performed on the source server's cache and the content is expected to be now refreshed in all regional servers around the globe. Please try again to install/update this feature using the SDK Maintenance tool.
If you still see errors on your side, please provide the following info:
- what is the IP of nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com (call "ping nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com" )
- can you access this link via your web browser: http://nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com/extras/inapppurchase/repository/Updates.xml ?
- if the link works in browser, does the SDK work if run again after the browser test?
In my recent test I had this set of results:
- what is the IP of nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com (call "ping nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com" ): 220.127.116.11
- can you access this link via your web browser: http://nds2.fds-forum.nokia.com/extras/inapppurchase/repository/Updates.xml ? : Yes
- if the link works in browser, does the SDK work if run again after the browser test?: Yes

Ltomuta - Re: read all ltomuta's guide and epxlain still meet problem
Yes, the IPs change all the time since there are many servers around the world delivering the content and you are always connected to the server closest to you. The example I gave shows one of the IPs of the server close to my location, yours will be different and in order for us to investigate it, we need to know the IP of the server you are connecting to.
As for the random number at the end of the URL, its role is to force proxy servers to ignore their caches and always fetch the current copy of the file from the hosting server. The number itself is irrelevant, it just has to be different from the previous request, therefore the random change. All OK there.
