Talk:Tabbed interface with Pivot animation for Windows Phone
SB Dev - Great informationI really like this article. One question though: most people will not be using XAML-defined icons in their Apps but rather high resolution bitmap images in various formats (PNG, JPEG) as those are more freely available and many graphics designers don't know how to convert their assets to a XAML format. I believe it would be a great addition showing how images could be used in a similar fashion.

You are true by stating that many users will opt for the image approach! But to be honest, it's actually better to use xaml because this will give you full resolution independent images.
The way to go is from image transform to SVG and than to XAML.Other reason why we need the XAML, because of the use of the FILL property inside the listbox item states. If we don't use this, we need to change images all the time for representing a selected one and a unselected one. ( resulting in more images needed in the app )

SB Dev -
Yes, I agree that it is the technically superior approach but it won't be viable in all situations and for all developers, which is the reason I brought it up.So I totally agree that the best way to solve this is using vector graphics but to show the alternate route as well would, in my opinion, help lots of people. It's just a suggestion though.

Depechie -I'll check the project, to see if I can tweak it a bit... so that a full images usages would also be possible :)

Hamishwillee - Subedited/Reviewed
Another excellent article. I've subedited this, the main edits being to consolidate the introduction. Please check that this is OK.
You will note that what you're calling a pivote with path control icons is what I call a tabber/tabbed interface with a pivot tab-transition :-) I think "tab" is something people will understand better. Propose new title "Tabbed interface with Pivot animation for Windows Phone"
I agree with SB Dev that some people will be getting their graphics in different formats so would be nice to support that too. My first impression though was "what are all these numbers" (yes, I know explain it!). If possible, consider if this data could be loaded from an icon file.
Thanks for this!

Ok, the title does indeed give more meaning :)About the images, I'll give it a try, but can't promise anything... because of the image switching when pressing an item, I'm not sure I can get this working in a generic way ( it has to go into the style definition - states ).

Hamishwillee - That will be good enough
Hey, as long as the article clearly states what it does then it is perfectly fine. Getting it to work with images as we've discussed would be great, but its "bonus points".-

Monto - Visual States not working on Dynamic ListThanks for this helpful post. But unfortunately, the visual state changes are not working if I use Binding in the header list, because my Pivot items are dynamic. I mean the colors are not changing as I select different items on list. Any Ideas?

Hey Monto, not sure why... can you provide some sample code?Ping me on twitter if you like @depechie
