Talk:Using Microsoft Advertising Control in Windows Phone apps
Croozeus - Renamed and subedited
Good article! Using Ads can be so easy in WP7 :)
I sub-edited the article and moved it to the new title. New title just because monetization may include several options while this article focuses on one of them i.e. advertising.//P

SB Dev -
The PubCenter control detects when it is being run inside the Emulator. Real Ads will only show up when running the sample on a device.
If you put the following values inside the Controls XAML definition it will display test Ads and those also work on the Emulator:

Jeepy - Doesn't work for me
this doesn't work for me !
I have installed your application on the phone, change the "Application ID" & "Ad Unit ID" to the mine, a small empty rectangle is displayed during 1 second and disappear immediately without showing something.
Any idea ? Thanks in advance for your answer, sincerely,Domi.

Jeepy - Doesn't work for me * EDITED *
Have found the problem :
just add this :
adControl.ErrorOccurred += new EventHandler<Microsoft.Advertising.AdErrorEventArgs>(bannerAd_ErrorOccurred);
to catch the error and I get : "no ads available" !
I switch my phone to US in the regional setting and I'm now able to get ads !! no too cool .....
BTW : thanks for this nice article.Domi.

SB Dev - PubCenter issues ATMMicrosoft seems to have quite some issues with the service right now. You can more information on the current state of this in the pubcenter support forums. The thread dealing with the issue you mention can be found here: http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/15ffbec5-97d3-4ee9-8bd0-edcad2f5654e/ad-unit-getting-impressions-only-from-us-and-italy-why-not-from-other-countries?forum=aiaforwinphone

Vivekmaskara - Pubcenter over admobNice article. Gives a fair insight on how different ad providers perform. Pubcenter is really a great ad network as it pays per impression for most of the campaigns. Otherwise now with windows phone 8 one could try google admobs which would give better earnings if you have a good CTR. I even wrote a comprehensive article on how to integrate admob in your windows phone app. http://www.windowsapptutorials.com/windows-phone/advertising/how-to-use-google-admob-in-windows-phone-app
