Hamishwillee - Nice trick, well explained

Hi Igor

Well done, nice workaround, and very well explained.

There isn't much I can offer in the way of "suggestions for improvement", but an image of your app below the introduction, or even better a video showing how it works wouldn't hurt.

Igordsm - About the video

Hi Hamish,

thanks for the comment. I tried to make a video of this app running on RDA, but I had a terrible time with swipe events... I couldn't get event the simplest events working because of the lag, although everything works on the Cloud Preview.

Igordsm - About the video 2

Got it working in Windows with the emulator! Thanks for the suggestion :D

Hamishwillee - Looks good.

Yes, Asha on RDA is almost unusable. Great job getting it working locally! Good luck with this article - we're judging this week.

Vivainio - Error?

Regarding this: "This function removes an existing <script> tag with id swipes at the end of the <body> element and creates a new <script> tag with the same id but with statements that add the event listeners to all elements in phonebook. ".

I don't see the part where existing script tag is removed in the code. Is the snipet up to date?

Hamishwillee - Lets see what igor says

Hi Vivainio

I could be wrong, but won't adding a script with the same element id replace the element in the DOM (that is how I interpreted this code).

Igor, if so, please confirm and add a comment to that effect to the article

Igordsm -

Well, actually the code was ok, but the text was not. Since only the last script tag is processed, the last one "loses" its effect and there is no need to replace it. Also, I updated the article to work with the new Asha platform (tested on the Asha 501).

Srinath29 - Need help..

Hey, nice work, why don't you make video tutorials for developing web apps. I want to develop but I"m not getting proper guidance. I develop metro apps. I was thinking any guidance in developing for asha platform will help me.. Thanks in advance

Hamishwillee - Because you can't cut and paste a video tutorial?

Hi Srinath

Video tutorials are good for high level information and simple steps. For this sort of detail having text and code examples is generally much better - for a start you can copy-paste and try out the relevant parts.
