Hamishwillee - Minor subedit

Hi Alessandro

Nice job. I've given it a minor subedit, but couldn't understand what you were saying here "Data values must be extracted from the ..." in order to fix it.

One thing I've always wondered about proximity sensors is how they work, and hence how closely they can detect things, and if there is an orientation effect. Ie will it detect me if I put phone backwards near my ear? I think a little more information on what the sensor can detect would be useful, because unlike accelerometer and compass, this is not well known.

Cheers

H

Jappit - Thank you for the edits

I've reworded the section about data values, as it was a bit cryptic. Please let me know if something is still unclear.

As for proximity sensor, I'll probably add a section with a brief introduction to technical details of the proximity sensor, as location, maximum distance and so on, as it can surely help.

Hamishwillee - Better

Thanks very much. I tidied that section up a bit more and I think it's good. Looking forward to seeing an update on the technical details of the sensor!

Hamishwillee - Did you have a chance to think about the detail on the sensor?

Thanks!

Arav3013 - Arav3013 - Is it usefull in Another phone of Nokia?

Hi Jappit...

I just want to know that is this application available for another series of Nokia Phone...?

Hamishwillee - Anything which has JSR256

The article is generally valuable for using sensors (ie Sensor API JSR256), and specifically about the proximity sensor. This should be quite a lot of devices - expert device search is easiest way to search: https://developer.nokia.com/search/?view=ds
