Capabilities (Symbian Signed)/WriteUserData Capability
The WriteUserData capability protects access to certain data that is considered private to the phone user, i.e. contacts, calendar entries and messages. It supports the integrity of the user data, so that the user can be sure that it is correct. The application of this capability is not necessarily symmetrical with the 'ReadUserData' capability.
This capability can be used with self-signed applications.
- For reading user data, see ReadUserData.
- ReadUserData and WriteUserData are not always symmetric. You don't necessarily get read and write access to same areas via them.
An application with this capability may modify or even delete the users important information. This is a User Capability so the user will be warned that the application may do these things on installation.
