Templates are standard wiki pages whose content is can be embedded inside other pages using the syntax {{Template name}}. The generic Media Wiki User Help provides instructions on how to create and use your own Templates.

This topic lists a subset of the templates that have been created by the Nokia Developer Wiki Administration. Contributors are encouraged to use these templates in their articles. The tables below describe the purpose of each template - click the links for more detailed instructions.

Note also that most of these templates have been translated to other languages. You can access the translation by specifying the language= parameter with the natural language category code (e.g. Lang-Portuguese). Links to translations (where they exist) are shown in the table below.

Template:InfoBox An information box with customizable title, image and text. If you create any additional "generic notifiers", this template should be used as the base.

Information

Template Description
Template:ArticleMetaData This template is for adding information about the article, including its testing, compatibility and review status, any associated files, and when it was created and edited. It replaces Template:CodeSnippet.
Template:SeeAlso This is for adding lists of related articles.
Template:InfoBoxRightHandSide An information box that floats on the right hand side - used for "metadata" style information rather than information that is part of the article itself. If you create any additional "generic information templates", this template should be used as the base.

Document Management

These templates are used to highlight problems with articles or areas where users can help improve the content.

Template Description
Template:ArticleNeedsUpdate Use {{ArticleNeedsUpdate}}} for articles that require a specific set of updates.

Needs-update.pngThis article needs to be updated: If you found this article useful, please fix the problems below then delete the {{ArticleNeedsUpdate}} template from the article to remove this warning.

Template:DeleteMe Use {{DeleteMe|reason for deletion}} to mark a page for deletion by a wiki admin. This will display the warning below and add the "Delete Me" category to the page.

Template:Archived Use {{Archived|timestamp={{subst:CURRENTTIMESTAMP}}|user=~~~|Text explaining alternatives (optional)}} to mark a page as archived by a wiki admin. This will display the warning below and remove the article from standard lists on the wiki.

Template:Stub Template to mark an article as a stub that needs to be filled out into a proper article. Creating stubs can encourage contribution and should point the way towards the future directions that the Wiki can grow.

Stub.pngStub: This article is a stub - an "empty" article that has been requested by another wiki user.

You can help by extending the article, or by adding comments which provide part of the information required.

Template:NeedsMoreWork Use {{NeedsMoreWork}} for articles that need a large amount of work to be fit for use, such that it is impossible to list it all. Template:ArticleNeedsUpdate should be used in preference. Articles that have this template for too long without being fixed should be deleted or turned into "Stubs"

Building Notifiers

These templates can be used as the base class for other notification and information templates.

Template Description
Template:InfoBox An information box with customizable title, image and text. If you create any additional "generic notifiers", this template should be used as the base.
Template:InfoBoxRightHandSide An information box that floats on the right hand side - used for "metadata" style information rather than information that is part of the article itself. If you create any additional "generic information templates", this template should be used as the base.

Where possible content should be hosted under the default site Terms and conditions. The licenses below may be useful when porting articles/books made available under these specific licences.
